Red Cross to hold virtual meeting celebrating women in the military

The Central & Southern Ohio Region of the American Red Cross will continue its Women on a Mission Speaker Series from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

This virtual meeting — held via Zoom — celebrates the Red Cross's commitment to the United States military.

Here is a list of the featured speakers:

• Major General Debbie Ashenhurst (U.S. Army, retired), director of the Ohio Department of Veteran Services
• Leslie Caliva, board vice chair, American Red Cross of the Greater Shenandoah Valley
• Angelique Carlson, Service to the Armed Forces regional director, Central and Southern Ohio Region

The group will also highlight a Special Mission Project to support women military members on ships in Djibouti, Africa. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, these women are unable to debark and purchase essential care items.
