MOUNT VERNON – Patricia (Patti) Ann Hunter, 69, of Mount Vernon; beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother; passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born on Aug. 23, 1951, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Edward and Helen (Jennings) Bonar.

Patricia graduated from Mount Vernon High School and became a caregiver at Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She was heavily involved with the day-to-day operations of the family farm on Blackjack Road. Patricia enjoyed gardening, but most of all she loved her family.

She married Edward (Ed) Eugene Hunter Sr. on Sept. 25, 1969; children, Edward (Trenell Smith) Hunter Jr., Amy (James) Slone and Mark (Lisa) Hunter; throughout their 51 years of marriage, Ed and Patti were blessed with 10 grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsey, Morgan, Mckenzie, Dalton, Jillian, Seth, Amber, Josh and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Luka, Lillian, Hailey and Kennedy; brothers, David (Sue) Bonar and Jimmy (Ann) Howes; sisters, Darlene Kura and Margene Howes; and several nieces and nephews.

Patti touched many hearts with her bubbly personality and pure soul. She valued the simple pleasures of life: family, faith and farming. She will be greatly missed and forever cherished.
