MOUNT VERNON – Dan Hubbell, 68, of Mount Vernon, passed away while surrounded by family on Dec. 21, 2020, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on March 13, 1952, in Mount Vernon, to Merlin and Wilma (Baird) Hubbell.

Dan was an avid sports fan. He loved the Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Most of all, he enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports. One of his favorite places was the softball/baseball fields, cheering on his family. On Saturday nights, you could find Dan volunteering at Pacemakers Dragway. 

Dan also spent many years as a Boy Scout troop leader and as a special deputy for the Knox County Sheriff Department. He was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and obtained his degree in electrical engineering at COTC in Newark.

He is survived by his brother, Tim (Carrie) Hubbell of Howard; his children, Jason (Mariah) Hubbell of Mt. Gilead, Christy (Rusty) Hubbell of Massillon, Trisha (Chris) Allen of Gambier, Doug (Kimmi) Hubbell of Howard and Lori (Jamie) Hubbell of Florida; 14 grandchildren, Melissa, Mileena, Jordan, Donovan, Autumn, Cody, Lilly, Ryan, Lexi, Luke, Brooklynn, Tyler, Jacklynn and Alivia; and five great-grandchildren, Maverick, Kade, Dominick, Cadance and Selena.

Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; his parents; and a brother, Mike.

Friends may call at the Lasater Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Mr. Bob Pelfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
