MOUNT VERNON – Donald L. Spearman, 85, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at his home. He was born on Sept. 19, 1935, in Knox County, to the late Kenneth and Christine (Quay) Spearman.
Donald was a retired supervisor for the former Continental Can in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fredericktown and the Colonel City Moose Lodge #2555.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Davidson) Spearman; daughters, Lee Ann (James) Hoobler of Hilliard, Elaine Wilson of Mount Vernon and Karen (Mark) Polzinetti of New Market, N.H.; stepsons, Chet Hilton of Alabama and Jim (Liz) Hilton of Columbus; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Darlene (Jim) Overly of Utica; sisters-in-law, Barbara Spearman and Mary Coffing of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private graveside service in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church, 22 E. Sandusky St., Fredericktown, OH 43019.
