MOUNT VERNON – Maxine D. Conn, 98, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home. She was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Fredericktown, and spent most of her lifetime in the Knox County area but maintained a home in Sarasota, Florida, for several years.
Maxine was a member of the Beneva Christian Church in Sarasota, Florida, and attended Gay Street United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Sharon) Bowers of Mount Vernon and Steve (Nancy) Bowers of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Jeff (Chris) Bowers of McClean, Virginia, Tina (Mike) Doup of Mount Vernon and J. Thomas (Bridgette) Bowers of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dale Workman; her mother, Edna Mae Workman; husbands, E. Lewis Bowers and Max L. Conn; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Bowers.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown, with the Rev. Karen Oehl officiating.
