To the editor:

Wow! It really makes me proud of the nice smooth road going down South Main Street in Mount Vernon, then I get a rude awakening when I drive across the so-called romantic brick cross-walks. What a joke! The city is trying to make South Main Street a place to enjoy, and I and a lot of other drivers and passengers would enjoy it if we didn't have our peace and quiet interrupted crossing those uneven bricks. What do you say, Mayor?
