Forty-five pastors’ children from the Metro Manila District gathered for a retreat themed “Arise” on June 11–12 at Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary, according to a July 9 announcement.

The two-day event provided encouragement, fellowship, healing, and renewed purpose for the children of pastors and ministry leaders. Activities included worship services, messages, group sharing sessions, and various games. Organizers said these elements reminded participants that they are not alone and emphasized that God has a special calling and purpose for their lives.

Speakers encouraged attendees to recognize their identity in Christ and inspired them to rise above challenges often associated with growing up in ministry families. The theme “Arise” was intended as a reminder that pastors’ kids are called to stand strong in their homes, churches, schools, and communities.

In addition to inspirational sessions, the retreat featured activities such as an Amazing Race event, game night, crafts for younger children, team challenges for teens, and opportunities for meaningful conversations. A highlight of the gathering was the formation of accountability groups where each participant was assigned an older peer—referred to as a “Big Brother” or “Big Sister”—to provide ongoing guidance after the retreat.

Organizers said this approach helped foster deeper support networks among participants, and many left with new friendships and renewed confidence.
