Several cadets from the Knox County Airport Cadet Flight, Civil Air Patrol, received promotions during a ceremony held on April 6 at the Knox County Airport in Mt. Vernon, according to a statement released on April 15.

Cadet Airmen Asher Bressi and Chaiah Bressi were promoted to Cadet Airmen 1st Class after completing the General Henry "Hap" Arnold Achievement of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program. Cadet A1C Trace Armstrong was promoted to Cadet Senior Airman upon completion of the Mary Feik Achievement.
Additionally, 2nd Lt Harrison Lingel received the General Charles "Chuck" Yeager Aerospace Education Achievement Award. This recognition is given to adult volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol who demonstrate fundamental knowledge of aerospace.
The Knox County Airport Cadet Flight meets every Monday evening at 6 PM at the airport terminal building. The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is open to youth ages 12-18 and focuses on leadership, aerospace education, physical fitness, and character development.
