Mount Vernon City Schools announced the launch of a mobile app designed to keep families, students, staff, and community members connected with the district.

The new app aims to provide users with access to district and school announcements, an events calendar, school contact information, daily lunch menus, and updates on athletics and extracurricular activities. The app is intended for parents, students, staff, and community members looking to stay current on district news and happenings. The app is available for free download by searching "Mount Vernon City Schools" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, according to a news release by Mount Vernon City Schools.

For those who are not receiving notifications from the app, users should first check that notification permissions are enabled in their phone's settings. They should also confirm they have selected their preferred schools within the app itself to receive building-specific announcements and updates. iPhone users can enable notifications through Settings, then Notifications, then select the app. At the same time, Android users can do so through Settings, then Apps, then select the app and adjust notification preferences, according to Mount Vernon City Schools.

Users experiencing issues with the app not refreshing or displaying new content are advised to try closing and reopening the app, checking their internet connection, and ensuring they have the latest version installed from the App Store or Google Play. The app is free to download and use for all families, students, staff, and community members, according to Mount Vernon City Schools.
