The Northridge Vikings School District announced in March that it is spotlighting Emily Rodesh, Elementary Music Teacher, as part of its Music in Our Schools Month celebration.
The district said the recognition aims to celebrate the role music plays in students’ education and to highlight the contributions of its music educators. Rodesh is currently in her third year at Northridge and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Ohio University.
According to the district, before joining Northridge, Rodesh spent four years teaching elementary and middle school music and directed choirs for middle and high school students in Northwest and Southeast Ohio. She has taught every grade level from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
In addition to her elementary teaching duties, Rodesh has directed middle school musicals and assisted with several high school productions. The district noted she continues to support performing arts programs by helping with both middle and high school musicals. She is especially looking forward to Hadestown, which opens this Friday.
Rodesh said, "I love what I do because through music, I am able to teach life skills like resilience, responsibility, and teamwork, along with music skills, history, science, and culture in fun and meaningful ways to every child in our elementary school. What we learn with joy, we never forget!"
More information about the spotlight on Emily Rodesh can be found on the official roster page at the Northridge Vikings School District's website.
