On Friday, March 20, the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. and Knox County Job & Family Services will present a free lunch and learn event focused on protecting older adults in Knox County. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, located at 807 Coshocton Avenue in Mount Vernon.

The event aims to provide professionals, caregivers, family members, and adults aged 60 and over with information about local programs and resources designed to help keep older adults safe as they age. Organizers say attendees will also learn how to recognize real estate "red flags" that could put older adults at risk.

A portion of the program will discuss the dangers posed by real estate wholesalers offering cash for homes through quick sales without involving a realtor. The session is intended to raise awareness among participants about potential risks facing older adults in these transactions.

Richard Meeker, Adult Protective Services Supervisor at Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc., is scheduled as one of the presenters. Lunch will be provided with fresh boxed lunches catered by Lannings. Jami Kinton-Sluss, Co-Owner and Marketing Director at Sluss Realty, is listed as an RSVP contact for the event.

Registration is required to attend due to limited seating. Interested individuals can register online or by scanning a QR code available on the event flyer. For questions about the event, Lori Love can be contacted at 567-247-6487.

More information and registration details are available at the official registration page.
