Kenyon College recognized as top producer of Fulbright scholars for another year

Kenyon College has once again been named a top producer of Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholars, marking the 19th time in 21 years it has achieved this recognition. The college is among the top 18 Baccalaureate institutions nationwide, continuing its legacy of developing international scholars. Eight Kenyon students were selected for the Fulbright program for the 2025-26 academic year, contributing to over 70 Kenyon students who have participated in the past decade.

Provost Jeff Bowman expressed pride in this achievement, stating, "This achievement reflects both the high caliber of our students’ academic work and the global range of their curiosity." Jason Czyz, president and CEO of the Institute of International Education, emphasized the program's role in strengthening American leadership globally.

The Fulbright program, established in 1946, facilitates international exchange for participants from over 160 countries. Notable alumni include Nobel Laureates and Pulitzer Prize winners. Among Kenyon’s current Fulbright scholars is Keiko Behrens, teaching English in Uzbekistan. Jackelyn Gali Samandas is teaching in Kazakhstan while also volunteering with autistic children. Guagui Vallejos is teaching in Spain and has found her experience enriching.

Kenyon College, founded in 1824 as Ohio's first private college, occupies a scenic rural campus and offers a rigorous liberal arts curriculum that encourages global experiences through study abroad initiatives. The college is known for its inclusive community and notable alumni across various fields.
