Granville pulls away early in 57-29 win over Utica

Granville delivered a dominant performance on the road, defeating Utica 57-29 in a girls basketball matchup on Dec. 16.

The Blue Aces set the tone early, racing out to a commanding first-half lead by holding Utica to just 11 points while scoring 33 of their own. Granville’s defensive pressure and efficient shooting created separation that the Redskins were unable to overcome.

Utica showed more fight after halftime, scoring 18 points in the second half, but Granville remained in control throughout. The Blue Aces continued to execute offensively, adding 24 more points to comfortably secure the victory.

Davynn Miller sparked Granville’s fast start, scoring all 12 of her points in the first quarter. Each of her baskets came from beyond the arc, giving the Blue Aces an immediate boost and stretching Utica’s defense.

Kat Kelley added 10 points for Granville, while Sophia Hall and Elle Mortimer chipped in eight points apiece as the Blue Aces showcased balanced scoring.

Makena Wilson led Utica with nine points, providing a bright spot for the Redskins despite the loss.
