The Utica High School bowling teams, both girls and boys, recently competed against the Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets.
The event was held at Redskin Lanes on December 10.
According to the results of the match, the boys' team continued their strong start to the season with a narrow victory, winning 2151-2146. This marked their highest score of the season and improved their record to 5-1.
Conversely, the girls' team faced a setback, losing 1522-1724, which adjusted their record to 1-4. Their only win this season was against Johnstown, where they achieved a score of 1525-1167, marking their highest score so far.
This current season follows an impressive 2024-2025 season for Utica's bowling teams. During that period, several honors were awarded: an Licking County League (LCL) boys bowler of the year award and first-team honors went to Devin Spring; Landon Pasquali and sophomore Dalton Rodeniser received second-team honors; Michael Spring received an honorable mention. On the girls' side, senior Bella Webb was named LCL honorable mention.
The teams are scheduled to compete next on December 16 against Zanesville at Sunrise Lanes.
