Wiggin Street Elementary will host the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge on Thursday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the school gym. The event aims to encourage students to be active and work together as a team.
The program will begin with an introduction from a school official and a highlight video designed to energize participants. Ohio’s Lieutenant Governor, Jim Tressel, who is also known for winning five national football championships as a coach, will attend as the special guest.
Tressel is scheduled to deliver remarks about the value of staying active and striving for personal bests. He will then lead students through four fitness activities: jumping jacks, push-ups, toe touches, and leg balance exercises.
The event will conclude with a lesson on Quiet Time, focusing on how moments of calm can help with concentration and achieving goals.
"This is a great chance to celebrate health, motivation, and school spirit together," organizers stated. The event will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
