Mount Vernon Nazarene University will hold a benefit concert titled "A Night with Nashville: Benefiting Cougar Baseball with the Hits" on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Thorne Performance Hall at the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Center as part of the university's Homecoming & Family Weekend.

The concert will feature Grammy-nominated songwriters Brian White, Karyn Williams, and Jesse Reeves. These artists have written songs for well-known musicians in both Christian and country music genres, including Chris Tomlin, Danny Gokey, Consumed by Fire, Cory Asbury, Matt Maher, Rodney Atkins, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, and Trace Adkins.

Organizers describe the evening as an opportunity for attendees to enjoy live performances and hear stories behind popular songs. Tickets are priced at $30 each. Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward MVNU’s On Deck Campaign for Cougar Baseball. More information about tickets can be found at https://mvnu.edu/on-deck.

In addition to the concert, Brian White will lead a free workshop earlier that day titled "So You Wanna Be A Songwriter: Helpful Hints to Kickstart Your Songwriting Journey." The workshop starts at 2:30 p.m., also in Thorne Performance Hall. According to organizers, this session gives aspiring songwriters access to advice from White’s extensive career achievements.

Both events are open to members of the public.

"A Night with Nashville: Benefiting Cougar Baseball with the Hits" offers community members a chance to support university athletics while engaging with notable figures from the music industry.
