Danville High School's volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory over East Knox on Thursday night at home, enhancing their season record to 5-7.
Under the guidance of Coach Morgan Spitler, the Blue Devils exhibited a robust performance, blending powerful attacks with solid defense. According to Spitler, Danville tallied 35 kills, 33 assists, 14 aces, 58 digs, and two blocks throughout the match. Zoey Neitzelt led the team with 13 kills, 10 digs, two aces, and one block. Brookelynn Carter contributed nine kills, six digs, and three aces. Kayley Sheldon added 13 digs and six aces.
The Blue Devils capitalized on aggressive serving and coordinated teamwork to secure the first, third, and fourth sets. The only setback occurred in the second set when East Knox narrowly claimed it. With this win, Danville aims to build momentum as the season progresses. The team is scheduled to return to the court on Tuesday, September 16th, to face Fredericktown in another challenging matchup.
