Newark Cross County to hold running event on Saturday, Sept. 13. | Newark City Schools

The Newark City Schools announced that the Newark Cross Country team will be hosting a running event on Saturday, Sept. 13. It will be held at the Evans Complex located at 948 Sharon Valley Rd. 

"Mark Your Calendars! Newark Cross Country is hosting its sole home event of the year -The Wildcat XC Classic!" a Facebook post reads.

This all-day event kicks off at 9 a.m. with high school races. At 10:20 a.m., the spotlight shifts to the youngest Wildcats with a Fun Run designed to ignite a love for running in grades K–6. Kids in K–4th grade will tackle a spirited 500-meter dash, while those in grades 5–6 will take on a full 1-mile challenge. The action continues at 11 a.m. with middle school races, where rising talent will take center stage.
