Danville’s ‘Dudes of the Week’ Ready for First Friday Night Test | Danville Blue Devils Football/fb

The Danville Blue Devils football program has recognized four athletes as "Dudes of the Week" ahead of its first home scrimmage of the season.

According to the program, freshmen Briggs Wallace, Parker Proper, and Jake Karn, along with senior Ashton Spaulding, received this weekly honor for their effort, dedication, and performance during preseason practices. "These guys have set the tone for the team this week," the program announced. "They’ve shown hard work, leadership and commitment to finishing the mission."

Fans will have the opportunity to see all four athletes in action on Friday night when Danville hosts Newark Catholic in its opening scrimmage. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Blue Devils’ home field.

The scrimmage will provide the first public glimpse of the 2025 Blue Devils as they prepare for what they hope will be another competitive season. With a mix of young talent and veteran leadership, the team aims to build momentum early.

Supporters are encouraged to attend and cheer on the Blue Devils as they embark on their fall campaign. Admission is open to the public, and school officials anticipate a lively crowd.

The program’s mantra this year — #FinishTheMission — serves as a rallying cry for players and fans alike.
