The Teen Advisory Council of Knox County (TAC) invites the community to participate in the Color For A Cause Race on Saturday, Aug. 16.

The community can expect bursts of washable, colorful powder while running or walking around Ariel-Foundation Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Participants can choose from a 1-mile walk, a 5K run, or the Kids Fun Run. All pre-registrations include a race number, finisher medal, and some festive Color Run swag.

Registration opens at 3 p.m. and closes after an hour.  Check-in will take place at the Park National Bank Pavilion, conveniently located near the Schnormeier Event Center and the Ruins for ample parking. To ensure smooth flow during the race, participants are kindly asked to avoid parking near the start and finish lines. Early birds can pick up their race packets ahead of time at the New Directions Office (212 N. Main St., Mt. Vernon, OH) from Aug. 11 to 14, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

This is a rain-or-shine event. If the weather turns severe, the race will be delayed, not canceled, although refunds won’t be issued.  Visit this link to register and learn more about other details.

TAC is a youth-led prevention team supported by DELTA AHEAD of New Directions and the Knox Substance Abuse Action Team, made up of driven high school students committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing harmful behaviors among Knox County youth.
