Active Achiever: Taylor Meade earns state fair recognition | Ohio State- Coshocton County 4-H

Local 4-H member Taylor Meade has earned statewide recognition after placing third in her class at the 2025 Ohio State Fair.

Representing the Active Achievers 4-H Club and Coshocton County, Meade competed in the Market Wether Show, where she secured third place in Class 3. This achievement is significant among dozens of young exhibitors from across the state. The Market Wether Show is one of the most competitive livestock events at the Ohio State Fair, highlighting youth skills in animal care, showmanship, and responsibility.

According to local sources, Meade’s accomplishment reflects months of hard work and dedication required to raise and prepare a market wether—a castrated male goat raised specifically for competition and market sale. Her achievement brings pride to the Coshocton County 4-H program and highlights the values of agricultural education and youth leadership.

In addition to her success in the show ring, Meade—also known as "T-Mac"—is a talented multi-sport athlete who plays softball for the Danville Blue Devils. This further showcases her dedication both on and off the field. "Taylor has demonstrated the true spirit of 4-H — dedication, perseverance and growth," said a local 4-H advisor. "We are incredibly proud of her efforts and excited to see what she accomplishes next."

The Active Achievers 4-H Club is part of Ohio State University Extension’s 4-H youth development program, which empowers young people through hands-on learning in areas like agriculture, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and civic engagement.

The 2025 Ohio State Fair, held in Columbus, continues to be a platform for youth across Ohio to showcase their hard work with thousands of entries submitted across livestock, arts, and other project areas.
