The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) is set to conduct a local public hearing regarding Will-Power OH, LLC's proposal for a 200-megawatt behind-the-meter natural gas-fired electric generation facility in Licking County.

According to an OPSB news release, the public hearing will take place at 5 p.m. on August 28 at New Albany Plain Local Schools, located at 7600 Fodor Road, New Albany. The event will be held in the high school's Mini Theater.

The release states that Will-Power OH has proposed the Socrates North Power Generation Facility on a 20-acre site within the City of New Albany's International Business Park. This facility aims to supply electric power to a data center situated on the same premises.

The purpose of the public hearing is to allow individuals to provide sworn testimony about the proposed facilities. The transcript from this hearing will become part of the case record reviewed by the OPSB. Witnesses are required to register upon arrival and will testify in their order of registration, with each witness limited to three minutes. If a witness wishes to supplement their testimony with an exhibit, they must provide a copy of the document to the administrative law judge during the hearing.

The evidentiary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on September 29 at the office of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, located at 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio, 43215. This session will include expert testimony and evidence concerning the proposed natural gas-fired electric generation project from the applicant, OPSB staff, and intervening parties.

Additional information about the proposed facility can be found on the OPSB website under case number 25-188-EL-BGN.
