WNZR 90.9 FM, a radio station affiliated with Mount Vernon Nazarene University, has announced the successful completion of its annual fundraiser, Lifeline 2025. The event, which aired from March 26 to March 31, aimed to raise $75,000 but exceeded expectations by collecting $85,441.

The station expressed gratitude for the support of its community and acknowledged the contributions of 249 ministry partners. Among these were 40 first-time donors and several others who increased their pledges. WNZR Station Manager Marcy Rinehart remarked on the importance of this support: “The partnership with our listeners and donors allows WNZR to broadcast and minister to the community throughout the year.”

Funds from Lifeline 2025 will be used to support staffing needs, including a full-time Assistant Station Manager and Office Manager, as well as student leadership positions for summer and the upcoming academic year. Additionally, funds will go towards equipment upgrades, website hosting, online streaming fees, and other operational needs.

Xander DeVault, a sophomore at MVNU majoring in Communication & Media (Digital Media), highlighted the impact of donor support: “As believers, we can continue to minister and encourage our local community because of their unwavering support.”

This year's theme was "Made For These Days," inspired by Jeremy Camp's song that conveys a message about being placed in the right place at the right time according to divine purpose. Rinehart elaborated on this theme by stating: “I believe that God is calling us to work together to spread His message of hope to others.”

Fundraising activities included special events such as the Lifeline Choice Challenge and Matching Challenge Day. On these days alone, significant amounts were raised through matched listener pledges.

Joe Rinehart, MVNU Director of Broadcasting, commented on the significance of Lifeline 2025: “Our commitment is to continue to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ while serving listeners.”
