Lacey Filkins, Executive Director of Experience Mount Vernon, is set to deliver a talk on the operation of community-oriented non-profit organizations. This event is sponsored by the Generosity Project, part of Kenyon College. Lacey Filkins has been leading Experience Mount Vernon since October 2022. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations from Baldwin Wallace University and a Master's in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina.
Before assuming her current position, Filkins had a career in higher education, focusing on sustainability initiatives at the University of South Carolina and managing the First-Year Experience at Kenyon College.
Experience Mount Vernon is a non-profit organization focused on the enhancement, beautification, and community development of downtown Mount Vernon. The organization aims to revitalize and strengthen a unique local downtown experience through community events, small business support and development, beautification projects, and strong partnerships within the community.
The talk is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 11:10 AM to 12:00 PM EDT. The event will take place at the Community Foundation Theatre, Gund Gallery, Kenyon College, located at 101 1/2 College Dr, Gambier. Admission is free for all attendees.
