Patsy J. Chase, 93, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025 at The Ohio Eastern Star Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Patsy was born November 27, 1931, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Frank and Marjorie (Dean) Heaton. She was a 1950 graduate of Howard High School, where she was one of the founding members of the Bulldogs’ cheerleading squad.
Patsy attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Patsy loved giraffes and everything giraffe, from figurines to clothing to jewelry.
Her greatest joy was singing, especially with her son, Johnny. They formed a group, Custom Blend, which included her brother, Roger, daughter-in-law, Beth, and grandchildren, Brad and Jaime.
Patsy also treasured family time with all of her extended family.
Patsy also loved cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes…football, of course!
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Beth (Jim) Brown; stepson, Brad (Carolyn) Pocock; grandchildren, Brad (Darcy) Nesbit and Jaime Nesbit; stepgrandsons, Zachariah Pocock, Ezekiel (Tiffiny) Pocock, Jon Brown, and Nick (Sarah Daubenspeck) Brown; great-grandchildren, Lelia (Dylan) Severns, Laura (Peyton Hogg) Hill, Aidan Nesbit, Lydia Hill, and Palmer Nesbit; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kylie Pocock, Morgan Pocock, Dominic Brown, and Emerson Brown; and great-great-granddaughter, McKinley Severns.
She is also survived by her nieces, Debbie (Phil) Spangler and Dianna (Gratton) Sparks; nephew, Don (Mitzi) Heaton; several great-nieces and great-nephews; the Chase Family; and special friends.
Besides her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her only child, Johnny Nesbit; husband, Chuck Pocock; husband, Laverne Chase; stepson, Colin (Chip) Pocock; stepgrandson, Ben Brown; brother, Roger Heaton; sister-in-law, Janet Heaton; and great-nephew, Ryan Heaton.
A private, graveside service will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park, where she will eternally rest alongside the love of her life, Chuck Pocock.
The family would like to thank The Ohio Eastern Star Home, especially Renee and Kim, and Gentiva Hospice, especially Jen, Destiny, and Debbie, for the excellent care given to Patsy and her family.
