The Danville Blue Devils varsity softball team delivered two dominant victories this week, defeating West Holmes 15-5 on Monday before overpowering Utica 13-3 on Tuesday.

Ruby Bartok starred in Monday’s win, driving in four runs on three hits, including a two-run homer in the third inning. Danville broke the game open with a six-run fifth inning, highlighted by Addison Mickley’s two-run double and Bartok’s two-run single. Pitcher Alicia Humphrey earned the win, allowing four hits and striking out five over four innings.

On Tuesday, Addy Bocock led the charge in the circle, striking out 10 while allowing three runs on three hits in six innings. Danville’s offense exploded early, scoring six runs in the second inning. Mickley and Bocock each had two-RBI hits, while Alicia Humphrey doubled in another run. Merista Brown capped the scoring with a two-run homer in the sixth.

Danville collected 16 hits against Utica, with Humphrey going 3-for-4 and Brown leading with three RBIs. Mickley, Sapp, Bocock, and others recorded multiple hits.

The Blue Devils, now rolling on offense and defense, travel to Mt. Gilead on 4/2, looking to continue their winning streak.
