Mount Vernon Nazarene University has announced two upcoming exhibitions at the Schnormeier Gallery, located in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The exhibits, titled "Myths & Perception — Sam Cook Senior Exhibit" and the "MVNU Art & Design Exhibit," will be open to the public from March 24 to April 4.
A special gallery talk with artist Sam Cook is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, at 5 p.m., followed by an opening reception for both exhibitions until 7 p.m.
"Myths & Perception" features installations that explore Greek and Roman myths and their evolution over time. The exhibition uses paper-mache, natural objects, and drawing to reinterpret ancient stories through temporary mediums.
The MVNU Art & Design Exhibit showcases a juried selection of student work from the university's Art and Design program. This semi-annual event presents various mediums and highlights student progression within the program.
Schnormeier Gallery is situated on the first floor of MVNU’s Buchwald Center at 221 S. Main St., Mount Vernon. It is committed to presenting diverse artistic expressions and is open Monday through Friday from 1-5 p.m. Admission is free.
