Sheila J. Wagner, 84, of Chillicothe, passed on to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2025 at her residence. She was born September 2, 1940, in Howard, Ohio, to the late George and Eleanor Ralston. On October 28, 1961, she married her beloved high school sweetheart Ronald L. Wagner. Together they shared over 63 years of marriage before his passing on January 3, 2025.

Surviving are her two cherished sons, Kevin (Nicole) Wagner, of Chillicothe and Christopher (fiancee Brenda) Wagner, of Dallas, TX; 3 grandchildren, Corwin, Carson and Carleigh; a beloved sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Larrry Vail, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; a special niece, Lizabeth Vail (Steven) Kelley, of Westerville, Ohio with several additional nieces and a nephew.

Sheila was a 1958 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and was the proud secretary of her graduating class. She attended Mount Vernon Business College and was employed by Cooper Bessemer Corporation. When relocated to Chillicothe, she was employed as a legal secretary by several local attorneys.

Sheila’s final employment career was as Admissions Director at Heartland Nursing Center for 13 years.

She was very active in community organizations and is a current member of Chapter EH of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a former member of the board of The Pump House Center for The Arts. As a faithful member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church, she served in various areas of mission.

Sheila had many friends and enjoyed playing bridge at the Chillicothe Country Club. There was always our “six-couple” group – including Sandy and Brent Myers, Sue and Tom Troester, Jane and Ron Harper, Sue and Joe Lazarro and Colleen and David Anderson. Brent Myers and Ron Harper have been joined by my beloved Ron Wagner in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 in Walnut Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Therese Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at Walnut Street United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.

Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
