Fredericktown girls’ track and field coach Bob Geiger has followed in his father's footsteps, dedicating himself to nurturing young athletes. As the new season approaches, Geiger is optimistic about the prospects for his team, which includes several athletes with potential to compete at the state level.

According to Geiger, "We have several athletes that have the opportunity to compete at the state level and a core group that have worked really hard to be successful."

Among those expected to excel this season is junior Ella Bouton, who was the Division II state runner-up in shot put last year and also qualified for the state meet in discus. Sophomore Jenny Alexander is recognized as one of the top pole vaulters in the area, while senior Trinity Enzor is a leading competitor in high jump.

Geiger expresses motivation from witnessing his athletes' success across various levels. "I enjoy seeing athletes have success no matter what level they are at," he said.

Looking forward, Fredericktown will depend on its experienced distance runners and strong throwers to guide the team. However, they face challenges in replacing key sprinters who graduated. With a combination of seasoned leadership and emerging talent, Fredericktown’s girls’ track and field team aims to make a significant impact this season.
