The YMCA of Mount Vernon is excited to announce its swimming lessons from March 3 to April 30. Registration began on Friday, Feb. 21, and will close on March 14.

One of the classes offered is the Spring Swim Lessons Session I 2025 Parent/Child Water Discovery. This class is designed for young children aged 6 months to 3.5 years, and requires a parent to be in the water with them. This engaging class helps parents and children bond while introducing the little ones to the joys of swimming.

For slightly older children, the Spring Swim Lessons Session I 2025 Level 1 H2O Acclimation is available for kids aged 3.5 to 6 years. This beginner class helps young children comfortable in the water, teaching safe entry and exit techniques, simple floating skills, basic splashing, and blowing bubbles. The emphasis is on creating a positive and enjoyable pool environment with minimal water submersion.

The Level 2 class is ideal for children who have either progressed from Level 1 or already have some independence in the water. These swimmers should be comfortable going underwater and jumping in by themselves. This class helps further develop their swimming abilities and confidence in the water.
