Mount Vernon City School District announces kindergarten registration for the upcoming school year

Kindergarten registration for the 2025-26 academic year in the Mount Vernon City School District is set to commence on March 1. The registration applies to children who will be five years old by August 1, 2025. Parents are advised to contact their designated home attendance area school to arrange a registration appointment.

The schedule for registration at various schools is as follows:

- Wiggin Street Elementary: April 24, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm (Phone: 740-427-4262)

- East Elementary: April 25, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm (Phone: 740-393-5985)

- Pleasant Street Elementary: April 30 and May 1, from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm (Phone: 740-393-5990)

- Columbia Elementary: May 2, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm (Phone: 740-393-5975)

- Dan Emmett Elementary: May 5, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm (Phone: 740-393-5950)

- Twin Oak Elementary: May 7 and May 8, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm (Phone: 740-393-5970)

To ensure a smooth registration process, parents must complete enrollment in OneView and provide necessary identification and personal documents. These can be uploaded during the OneView registration or emailed to the school secretary before kindergarten screening.

Required documents include a photo ID of the parent or guardian enrolling the student, the child's original birth certificate, and proof of residency such as a mortgage statement or utility bills. Additional requirements include immunization records and any applicable current IEP/504 Plan or custody documentation.
