Jerry Lee DeBoard, 81, of Marengo, OH, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 4, 1943, in Mount Vernon, OH, to Marvin and Mary (Calvert) DeBoard, Jerry graduated from Butler High School in 1962 before serving in the Army, stationed in Korea. He married Leona Bunker on October 29, 1966, who preceded him in death on August 29, 2013.
Jerry was a proud Teamster truck driver for 36 years and a passionate Cleveland Browns fan (though disappointed this year) and Ohio State fan. He enjoyed westerns, especially "Spaghetti Westerns," and music from the '50s and '60s. Above all, he loved teasing his family, often more than anything else.
He is survived by his children, Brenda (Sherman) O’Bryan, Debbie (Michael) Waulk, and Robert (Nancy) DeBoard; grandchildren Michael, Amber, Brittany, Stefani, Chania, Kaitlynn, and Savannah; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Jody DeBoard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack and James DeBoard, and sister Janice Moreland.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, with Pastor Pam officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with military honors.
