The Utica Redskins used a strong second half to secure a 49-37 victory over the Northridge Vikings on December 13 in high school girls basketball action.
The game was tightly contested at halftime, with Utica holding a slim 19-18 lead. However, the Redskins outscored Northridge 30-19 in the second half to seal the win.
Utica was led by Emily Ritzer, who scored a team-high 13 points. Abby Dickson added 12 points, and McKenna Wilson contributed 11 points to the Redskins’ offensive effort.
Northridge’s top performer was Ava Travis, who finished with 22 points and shot 50 percent from the field. Despite Travis’ strong performance, the Vikings struggled to match Utica’s second-half surge.
The Redskins’ defense played a key role in limiting Northridge’s scoring opportunities in the final two quarters, while their offense was able to find more rhythm, pulling away to a comfortable win.
