The Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets boys wrestling team took first place at the 4th Annual John Brown Memorial Tournament on December 7, securing the victory with a total of 231 points. Eleven teams competed in the event.
Mount Vernon dominated the tournament with strong individual performances across multiple weight classes. Caleb Snyder claimed the title at 106 pounds, while Mason Mitchell triumphed in the 150-pound division. Mavrik Gregory won the 157-pound weight class, and Jake Taylor emerged victorious at 175 pounds.
The Yellow Jackets’ team victory solidified their position as a dominant force early in the 2024-2025 season, showcasing both depth and talent across a range of weight classes.
