Master Will Smith presided over the monthly meeting of Morgan Grange with seventeen members and two guests present. Roll call was taken and minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The opening song was 'School Days'.
Members of Morgan served a luncheon to 120 Utica area senior citizens and thanks was given to all those who prepared and served the luncheon. We will be providing dinner to the Shriners on Tuesday, November 26th.
It was reported that all the Ohio State Grange officers from Knox County were re-elected at the recently held Ohio State Grange Convention where members of Knox County performed the Rose Drill. The delegates from Knox County, Sue Bateman and Lonnie Totten, will give a full delegate report at the Pomona Grange meeting at Morgan on Monday, November 18th. The winners who placed at the state level from Morgan include Oneta Debolt, Loretta Crego, Ned Campbell, Tom Debolt, Dorthy Hughes, Cindy Campbell and Kendrick
Flanagan.
The National Grange Convention will be held next week in Iowa.
Members of Morgan packed up snack bags to be available in the Hospitality room at the convention. Cindy Campbell and JoAnn Walton delivered 72 dictionaries each to both Newton Elementary and Utica Elementary schools. The Utica Christmas walk will be held on Wednesday, December 4th and James and Mary Jordan will be passing out popcorn to the guests. Fruit plates and Christmas cards will be distributed at the next meeting for local area shut-ins.
It was announced that Wayne Grange will be having an open house on Sunday, November 17th from 2-4 pm to show the public the improvements made to the grange hall.
Concerns were expressed for Dave Morey, Will Smith and the Moone Family. It was decided to donate funds to the Moone family to help with medical
expenses.
Members with birthdays include JoAnn Walton and Bob Walton.
Anniversary couples are Bill and Loretta Crego, Robert and Vicki Newton andWill and Dee Smith.
Morgan members will meet again on Friday, December 13th at 7:30 pm. Please bring a wrapped white elephant gift for exchange.
