Mount Vernon Nazarene University President Carson Castleman has appointed Cindy Sizemore as the new executive director of Alumni Relations and President's Circle. Sizemore is a 1974 graduate of Mount Nazarene College.

"As an alumnus from the early years of MVNU, Dr. Sizemore brings a deep understanding and passion for our university and its alumni. I am confident she will do an outstanding job in fostering connections and enhancing our alumni relations," Castleman said, according to an MVNU news release.

According to the MVNU news release, Sizemore previously served as the director of Development. She succeeds Mike Cheek ('82), who transitions to the full-time role of executive director of Major Gifts within the Development Office. She will oversee all alumni-related programs and activities, focusing on developing and strengthening relationships within the MVNU alumni community. In this role, she will establish and oversee local and regional alumni chapters and develop an effective program to engage current students to become supportive alumni.

Sizemore will collaborate with the director of Admissions to support recruitment efforts as they relate to alumni and the Legacy Program, according to the MVNU news release. Her collaboration will extend to the director of Career Services for opportunities to connect alumni who seek internships and employment. Another area of collaboration will be visiting churches on the East-Central Field of the Church of the Nazarene, as well as denomination-wide gatherings such as NYC, General Assembly, and the Nazarene National Softball tournament as an MVNU representative.

The MVNU news release said that her role would also involve serving as a development officer through engaging with donors in the President's Circle. These friends and alumni supporters contribute $1,000 or more to MVNU during the current or prior fiscal year.

Sizemore resides in Glendale, Ohio, with her husband Greg, who is an attorney and business owner. He enjoys teaching law and leadership at the university level. Their son Nathaniel is an attorney and entrepreneur involved in their family business. He is working on releasing his second book. Nathaniel lives in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky with his wife Erin, a district court judge, and their three children: Elizabeth, Charlotte Grace, and William.
