A new support group has been established in Knox County for individuals questioning their religious beliefs or struggling with the challenges of leaving or changing religions. The group meets twice a month—virtually on the second Friday and in person on the fourth Tuesday.
Leaving a religion can be a complex and emotional journey, often involving the loss of relationships and community support. Recovering from Religion (RfR), a nonprofit organization founded in 2009 by Dr. Darrel Ray, provides a safe space for those navigating this transition. The organization is dedicated to offering education, understanding, and ongoing support to those recovering from religious trauma.
The Knox County support group provides a confidential environment where participants can openly share their doubts, fears, and experiences without fear of judgment or proselytizing. Whether you are beginning to question your beliefs or are well along your journey, the group offers compassionate support for every stage of the process.
