Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) has appointed Sarah Mowry as its director of Residence Life and Student Accountability. Mowry previously served as MVNU's assistant director of Residence Life for two years and resident director for four years.

"My plan is to continue building on the foundation of a restorative, growth-focused, and grace-filled process by those who came before me. I will always prioritize our students, advocate for them, and encourage their growth, even in the difficult moments," Mowry said in an MVNU news release.

According to the MVNU news release, Mowry will supervise residential life, housing, and student conduct and policies. She will oversee the staff of resident directors and assistant resident directors, as well as the Residence Life student staff. Her responsibilities will include collaboration with other campus departments such as Athletics, Facilities, and Campus Safety to ensure residential life runs smoothly for students and staff.

Vice President for Student Life Matt Spraker stated in an MVNU news release that Mowry's experience in Residence Life and her years as a youth minister have prepared her to lead the program and team.

Mowry earned a bachelor's degree in music ministry from Olivet Nazarene University and graduated from MVNU with an MBA in Organizational Management, according to the MVNU news release.
