The Mount Vernon Music Boosters are thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2024 Music Boosters Scholarships. This year, a total of $2,500 in scholarships were awarded to seven talented students from Mount Vernon Middle School and Mount Vernon High School. These scholarships are designed to support and encourage the continued musical development of our students, helping them to pursue various opportunities to enhance their musical abilities.
Mount Vernon Music Boosters Scholarship Recipients:
1. Lacey Jefferis, Grade 7 - $415

2. Payton Lamb, Grade 8 - $415
Purpose: Olentangy Summer Strings Camp
3. Cooper Ferguson, Grade 9 - $325
Purpose: Bassoon Lessons
4. Madeline Springer, Grade 10- $325
Purpose: Flute Lessons
5. Tyler Ing, Grade 11 - $395
Tyler was selected as the recipient of the Chelsie Alaimo Memorial Music Boosters Scholarship
Purpose: The Ohio State University Marching Band Summer Clinic
6. Olufemi Odiah, Grade 11 - $325
Purpose: Violin Lessons
7. Natasha Jose, Grade 12- $300
Purpose: Violin Lessons
The Mount Vernon Music Boosters Scholarship program is an essential part of our commitment to nurturing the musical talents within our community. Scholarships are awarded based on the students' active participation in school music programs such as band, orchestra, or choir, and their clear intention to further their musical education and skills.
Eligible students can use the scholarship funds for a variety of musical pursuits, including attending music-focused camps, receiving music lessons, repairing instruments, and even advancing their music education at the college level. By providing these scholarships, the Music Boosters aim to remove financial barriers and help students achieve their full potential in the musical arts.
