Katie Reed won a pair of gold medals for the Utica Redskins at the Sara Robinson Relays in Lakewood on April 19, dominating the throwing events and leading Utica to a third place finish out of nine teams. The boys’ team finished sixth in the meet.

Boys Highlights:

4x100 meters: Utica was seventh with a time of 47.28. The team included Lane Walters, Carson Meek, Andrew Bebout and Hunter McKinney.

4x200 meters: Utica was fourth with a time of 1:38.80. They included Walters, Meek, Bebout and Gavin Rutter.

4x400 meters: Utica took the bronze medal with a time of 3:48.51. They included Rutter, Hayden Quinif, Bebout and McKinney.

4x800 meters: The Redskins had a time of 10:04.10 for fifth place. The team included Tyler Henry, Austin Kennedy, Quinif and Michael Sheets.

4x1600 meters: Utica’s team of Anthony Unger, Quinif, Matt Stone and Breyden Hill was fourth with a time of 21:38.67.

800 meter Sprint Medley Relay (SMR): Utica placed fourth with a time of 1:42.39. The team was Walters, Meek, Bebout and McKinney.

4000 meter Distance Medley Relay (DMR): The Redskins were fourth at 12:38.35. The team included Anthony Unger, Quinif, Hill and Matt Stone.

4x100 meter hurdles: Utica was eighth with a time of 1:15.55. The team included Devon Firman, Cameron Sarnes, Rutter and Kennedy.

Shot Put: Deagan Workman placed ninth with a throw of 40 feet, seven inches. 

Discus: Workman was 10th with a time of toss of 113 feet, 11.5 inches.

High Jump: McKinney was sixth with a height of five feet, six inches.

Long Jump: Sarnes was 13th with a distance of 16 feet, five inches.

Girls Highlights:

4x100 meters: Utica had a fifth place time of 57.51. The team included Destiney Bell, Gracie Danison, Callie Baker and Maya Smith.

4x200 meters: The Redskins were fourth with a time of 2:00.11. The team included Bell, Madison Yates, McKenzie Meek and Baker.

4x400 meters: Utica won the bronze with a time of 4:48.36. The team include Danison, Baker, Yates and Kaylee Linger.

4x1600 meters: The Redskins were fourth with a time of 28:55.88. They included Lauren McClellen, Camryn Baker, Abbi Myers and Susan Pound.

800 meters SMR: Utica was fourth with a time of 2:08.75. The team was made up of Bell, Hailey Wygle, Danison and Linger.

4000 meters DMR: Utica was fifth with a time of 16:07.33. The team included Susan Pound, McClellen, Abbi Myers and Camryn Baker.

4x100 hurdles: The Redskins were sixth with a time of 1:24.79. The team included Claire Sichina, Makayla Firman, Linger and Baker.

Shot Put: Katie Reed was first with a throw of 31 feet, 1.5 inches.

Discus: Reed also won gold in the discus with a distance of 101 feet, 3.5 inches, which was more than 12 feet in front of the the competition.

High Jump: Wygle was tied for third with a time height of four feet, four inches.

Pole Vault: Wygle tied for the top spot with a height of seven feet, six inches.

Long Jump: Madison Yates took home the silver medal with a leap of 14 feet, 5.25 inches.
