Knox County GOP voters rejected incumbent pro-solar farm incumbent Thom Collier, who took a distant third to winner Drenda Keesee and Bob Phillips in one of two races for county commissioner.
Of 10,930 votes cast in that race, the unofficial tally is:
Keesee- 4,334 votes (40 percent)
Phillips- 3,643 votes (33 percent)
Collier- 2,953 votes (27 percent)
In the second Knox County Commissioner race, Barry Lester prevailed over Jeffrey W. Harmer, Jennifer Snow and Scott E. Zimmerman.
Of 11,365 votes cast in that race, the unofficial tally is:
Lester- 2,861 votes (27.4 percent)
Zimmerman- 2,734 votes (26.2 percent)
Snow - 2,483 votes (23.8 percent)
Harmer- 2,347 votes (22.5 percent)
Keesee and Lester are both publicly opposed to solar farm development in Knox County.
Collier, who served in the Ohio State House of Representatives from 2000-2008, was seeking a fourth term. He was first elected in 2012.
