Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) President Carson Castleman has announced the appointment of Brooke Overholt as the executive director of Financial Services. An alumna and former employee of MVNU, Overholt brings with her a wealth of experience.

"I think 8 years as a financial aid advisor working with students and parents has helped me in knowing customer service, how financial aid works, and working with federal, state, and university aid," said Overholt according to an MVNU press release. "I love working with students and trying to help them make their educational journey as smooth as possible."

Overholt graduated from MVNU in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, according to another MVNU press release. She returned to the university in 2013 and served as a financial aid advisor until mid-2021. Subsequently, she served as a registration change counselor before being named the assistant director of enrollment operations at Indiana Wesleyan University.

In her new role at MVNU, Overholt will oversee financial aid and manage student accounts. According to an MVNU press release, she will work closely with enrollment officers to secure traditional and online enrollment goals. Her responsibilities also include ensuring that MVNU's financial aid is compliant with all federal regulations and developing pathways to assist both traditional and non-traditional students with financial aid.

Overholt will report directly to Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing Johnna Vanover, according to an MVNU press release. She currently resides in Fredericktown with her husband Brent and their three children.
