Ronald Eugene Richert, 90, of Woodstock, GA, passed away on February 1, 2024. He was born on March 25, 1933, in Danville, Ohio USA. Ronald, lovingly known as Gene, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was highly regarded and cherished by his community. Gene had a passion for working with his hands and was skilled in construction, cars, and woodworking projects. He had a remarkable mechanical aptitude.

In his personal and family relationships, Gene is survived by his beloved wife, Thelma "Jane" Richert, his daughter Rhonda (Steve) Richert Peege, his son Brent (Holly) Richert, his grandchildren Matt Richert, Mitch (Jen) Richert, Miranda (Andrew) Peege Hirschler, Brandon (Kelsey) Peege, Nikki Richert, and his great-grandsons Mason and Lucas Richert. He also leaves behind his brother Jerry (Irene) Richert, his sister Linda (Tom) Richert Stillwagon, and his brother John (JoAnn) Richert. Gene was preceded in death by his father Ronald Richert, his mother Dorothy Richert, and his brother Neil Richert.

Gene attended St. Vincent de Paul School for his high school education. Following his education, he served in the Army during the Korean War from March 1952 to March 1954.

Throughout his career, Gene worked for several GM Dealerships in the Knox County Ohio area, showcasing his expertise and dedication.

Gene was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church from 1969 to 2003, where he found joy, strength and community.

In his leisure time, Gene enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, playing cards, and passionately supporting The Ohio State Football Team. He also found joy in woodworking and cars.

A graveside service will be held at the Georgia National Veterans Cemetery in Canton, GA on February 12, 2024 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Heart Association in honor of Gene's memory.

Ronald Eugene Richert will be remembered for his loving nature, his remarkable skills, and his profound impact on the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
