Mount Vernon City Council has directed Safety-Service Director Tanner Salyers to acquire portable radios for the local police department. The procurement will be made through an Ohio state bid.

According to the resolution approved by the city council, these new radios are essential for enabling officers of the Mount Vernon Police Department to effectively communicate with each other and 911 Dispatch.
