The Knox County Sheriff's Office has reported a robbery at the First Federal Bank in Centerburg. The suspect, who was seen with a handgun in his waistband, remains at large.
According to a post on the Knox County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, deputies responded to the incident at 9:18 a.m. on January 4th.
The same source revealed that the suspect had been carrying a cane and pretending to be blind. After committing the crime, he reportedly fled on foot, possibly heading towards an alley behind a local Subway sandwich shop.
Further information from the Sheriff's Office suggests that a dark gray Jeep Latitude or similar vehicle displaying a temporary tag may have been involved in the incident.
In their Facebook post, the Knox County Sheriff's Office also urged anyone with information about the robbery to contact their dispatch center at 740-397-3333, ext. 1. However, they cautioned that this information is preliminary and subject to change.
