Frank Danny Corbin, "Pappy" age 87 and most recently of Westerville, Ohio passed from this life on Friday morning October 6, 2023. Frank was the son of the late James Glenroy Rosson and the late Florine Virginia Kain. Edward William Kain, Frank's stepfather, also preceded him in death.

Frank was born on February 22, 1936, in Winchester, Virginia. His family originated in the mountains of Madison County, Virginia until the creation of the Skyline Drive, which forced his family and others to relocate to the Shenandoah Valley in the 1930's. The Corbin cabin in Nicholson Hollow is the only structure left in the Shenandoah National Park to commemorate the heritage of the Corbin family.

Frank left his home in Winchester at a young age to join the armed forces, spending his early military service stationed in Korea. After his tour of Duty, Frank would serve in the Air Force Reserve retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant in January of 1996 with 21 years of service. He spoke of his military time often with a sense of pride.

Frank would marry the late Betty Jean Guess in Winchester, Virginia on June 30, 1961. Surviving are his son, Daniel Corbin and wife Brigett of Inwood, Virginia; daughter Francine Mitchell and husband David of Westerville, Ohio; stepdaughter Cindy Stickley of Middletown, Virginia; stepson George Johnson and wife Linda of Winchester, Virginia; and stepdaughter Kim Crowder of Christiansburg, Virginia. Frank was especially proud of his nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

After his active-duty military service, Frank's primary occupation was with the trucking business, operating a trucking company of his own. He would retire from the trucking businessas an operator for JB Hunt.

Later in life, Frank would marry Nancy Louise Smith who preceded him in death. Frank and Nancy spent 17 years taking up residence in Pulaski, Virginia providing cafeteria services to several venues as well as providing a home to Nancy's daughter Kim and her two sons.

Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME Tuesday October 17th from 5-7 p.m. where a memorial service was followed at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Cal Alexander officiating. An interment with military honors is planned for Friday October 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Veteran's cemetery in the Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Humane Society of the United States in honor of Frank's love for animals. humanesociety.org
