The Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education approved contracts for eight new substitute teachers at its meeting on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023.

They are: 

• Hannah Devvold
• Cheryl Feasel
• Daniel Hamman
• Sara Lawthon
• Terri Lewis
• Margaret Pursel
• Aubri Reau
• Craig Stump

The contracts are contingent upon favorable background checks, receipt of proper certification and verification of experience.

Mount Vernon City School District has 3,446 students and 177 general education teachers, according to the Ohio State Department of Education. It also has 34 special education teachers, eight fine arts teachers, nine music teachers, nine physical education teachers, and three career-technical teachers.
