The Lucy Knox Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated the anniversary of their organization's founding, October 11, with a Day of Service, collecting and donating new and "gently-used" patriotic books to schools in Knox County.
The books incldues James Patterson's All-American Murder, and Red Alert as well as The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.
DAR calls it the "Community Classroom" project. The group also donated books to “Love Our Heroes”, a second-hand store in Bellville.
All proceeds from the store go toward supporting veterans.
