CENTERBURG, Ohio - A tragic accident on Deal Road claimed the life of a Centerburg man on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kevin Woosley, 59, was operating a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle when the crash occurred.

The accident took place in Clay Township in Knox County at around 2:57 p.m. Woosley was traveling west on County Road 73 (Deal Road) when another vehicle, a 2005 Honda Element driven by Elwood Wells, 76, attempted to make a left turn into a private drive. Wells' vehicle collided with Woosley's motorcycle, causing it to overturn off the right side of the roadway.

Tragically, Woosley was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was transported to Knox Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Wells sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

Authorities have stated that alcohol and drug use are not suspected factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol is working to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Emergency responders from the Bladensburg Fire District, Knox County Sheriff's Department, and Blubaugh's Towing provided assistance at the scene.

This devastating incident serves as a reminder of the importance of wearing helmets while operating motorcycles, as they can significantly reduce the risk of fatal injuries in the event of an accident.
