James E. Shannon, known affectionately to all as Jim, was called to his eternal home on December 8th, 2024. Born in the springtime of 1960, on the 21st of May, in the quaint town of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Jim's life was a testament to the values he held dear.

Jim's early years were rooted in the nurturing soils of Mount Vernon, where he not only grew in stature but also in character. He was the beloved son of James Sr. and Betty Shannon, both of whom, along with his sister Teresa Snelling, preceded him in passing. Jim's family tree continued to flourish through his cherished siblings, Douglas Shannon, accompanied in life by his wife Melanie, and Larry Shannon, all of whom shared in the joys and sorrows of life's seasons.

The Shannon legacy expanded with Jim's own beautiful family. His love knew no bounds when it came to his daughter, Ashley, and her husband, Micah Dodd, and his son, Greg, alongside his wife, Ashlie. Jim's heart swelled with pride for his grandchildren—Landon, Loralei, Lyelah, and Leighana Dodd; Noah, Dakota, and Kyleigh Shannon; and by marriage, Lauren and Carter Lee. Each child held a special place in his heart, and he imparted wisdom and joy upon them all.

Jim's formative years were spent in the halls of Centerburg High School, followed by a pursuit of knowledge at the Knox County Career Center, where he mastered the art of auto mechanics. This skill would serve him well and provide for his family as he dedicated over two decades of his life to the workforce of TRW, where he was not just an employee but a brother to many in the United Auto Workers.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim's passions painted a picture of a man who cherished the simple things in life. A collector of model cars, he found serenity in the intricate details of his hobby. Yet, it was the time spent with his grandbabies that brought him immeasurable joy, each moment a precious memory etched into the fabric of their lives.

A man of God, Jim's faith was the cornerstone upon which he built his life. He spread the love of the Lord with a gentle spirit, touching the hearts of those he encountered. His faith was a living, breathing example of the grace he believed in so fervently.

To describe Jim is to speak of a faith-filled man, whose hands were as handy as his heart was gentle. His presence was a balm to troubled souls, and his laughter a melody that echoed in the halls of time. He navigated life's trials with a steadfast resolve, and in his quiet strength, we found a refuge.

As we bid farewell to our beloved Jim, let us carry forward the legacy he leaves behind. His spirit lives on in the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the memories we hold dear. Though his earthly journey has concluded, his story continues in the lives he touched and in the unending love of our Heavenly Father.

In the words of scripture, "Well done, good and faithful servant." that this is not goodbye, but a temporary parting until we meet again in glory. We Love you dad and miss you dearly already.
